Website privacy information
Last updated: 21 October 2026.
Who is responsible for your information
PPS Security Ltd, registered in Scotland (SC875462), is the controller of the personal information you send through this website. Its registered office is The Royal Exchange, Panmure Street, Dundee, DD1 1DU. For any privacy question, email [email protected].
What you provide
The enquiry form asks for your name, email address, site or event postcode and your message. Company name and phone number are optional. If you arrive through a campaign link, its source, medium and campaign labels may be added to your enquiry. We also record the page you sent the enquiry from and your browser type. You do not have to use the form: you can call or email PPS instead.
Separately from the form, Google Analytics counts how this website is used, and if you press Accept on the cookie banner Microsoft Clarity does too. See Cookies and measurement below.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details only to respond to your enquiry, including preparing a quotation if you ask for one. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), because we need to read and answer the enquiries people choose to send us. Where you ask for a quotation, we are also taking steps at your request before a possible contract (Article 6(1)(b)). We also keep the form secure and free of spam, which is a legitimate interest too. We do not make automated decisions about you and we do not use your details for marketing. Google Analytics runs on our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used, and you can object at any time with Reject on the cookie banner. Microsoft Clarity runs only on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
How enquiries are handled
When you send the form, your details travel over HTTPS to PPS Security’s enquiry service, which runs on Cloudflare. They are saved in a database so PPS can reply, and a copy is emailed to PPS using the email provider Postmark. To limit spam, we count submissions from each connection using a scrambled (hashed) code, not your IP address itself.
Anti-spam check
The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-spam check that tells people from automated bots. When the form loads, Cloudflare receives technical details from your browser, such as your IP address and browser type, to make that decision. It does not set advertising or analytics cookies.
Who receives it
Only PPS Security and the companies that process the enquiry for it: Cloudflare (website hosting and the enquiry database), Postmark (email delivery), PPS’s own email system, Google (Google Analytics) and Microsoft (Clarity). Google Analytics runs unless you reject it; Clarity runs only if you accept. We do not sell your details or pass them on for others’ marketing. Cloudflare, Postmark, Google and Microsoft may process data outside the UK, including in the United States, under approved safeguards such as international data transfer agreements or the UK–US data bridge.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept in the website database for 12 months after you send them and are then deleted automatically. The emailed copy is kept in PPS’s mailbox only as long as it is needed to deal with your enquiry. If you become a client, PPS keeps the records it needs to provide the service and meet its legal duties for as long as those require.
Cookies and measurement
A small banner offers Reject and Accept. It does not block the page. You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer. Your answer is the one thing the site stores for its own sake, so it does not ask again.
- Google Analytics 4 counts visits and shows which pages are read, from what kind of device, and from which country. It is used only to improve this website, and it runs unless you press Reject or your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. It sets the cookies
_gaand_ga_*, which last up to 2 years. We have switched off Google signals, ad personalisation and Google’s own use of this data, and we do not use it for advertising. - Microsoft Clarity shows us heatmaps and recordings of how pages are used, such as where people click and scroll. It runs only if you press Accept. It sets the cookies
_clck(up to 1 year) and_clsk(1 day). The enquiry form is masked, so what you type is never recorded.
Reject removes both tools’ cookies and stops them. Both providers process data in the US as well as elsewhere, under the safeguards UK law allows. Read Google’s privacy policy and Microsoft’s. We keep Google Analytics data for 14 months at most.
Cloudflare may also process technical request information, such as your IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Your rights
You can ask PPS for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how it is used, or to object to its use. To do any of these, email [email protected] and we will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
External services
Telephone and email links open your device’s apps. Links to maps, Companies House and official guidance lead to external websites with their own privacy information.
